FATAL TWO-VEHICLE COLLISION THURSDAY IN WHITLEY COUNTY, KENTUCKY

WILLIAMSBURG, KY (April 28, 2023) – The Kentucky State Police(KSP) is reporting that on Thursday, April 27, at approximately 11:30 AM, KSP Post 11, London responded to a two-vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Cumberland Falls Highway and Angel Road in Whitley County.

The initial investigation indicates that a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado operated by Ralph Lyttle 86 years old of Williamsburg, KY, was turning left off of Angel Road when his vehicle entered the path of a 1998 Freightliner empty log truck that was traveling south, driven by Randall L.  Bowlin, 59 years old of Williamsburg, Ky.

As a result of the collision, Mr. Lyttle suffered life-threatening injuries, he was pronounced deceased by the Whitley County Coroner’s office.

KSP Post 11 Trooper Matthew Brumley is continuing the investigation.

He was assisted at the scene by Post 11 Personnel, the Whitley County Sherriff’s Office, Whitley County EMS, Whitley County Fire Department, and the Whitley County Coroner’s Office.
