WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR (May 8, 2023) - The Oregon State Police (OSP) is reporting that on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at approximately 7:45 A.M., OSP responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 5, near milepost 290, in Washington County.
The preliminary investigation indicated a Dodge Viper, operated by David Ray Coffman (73) of Lake Oswego, was merging onto Interstate 5 (south) when the operator lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle left the roadway at an angle, slid up an embankment, went airborne and struck trees.
The operator was declared deceased at the scene.
OSP was assisted by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and ODOT.
