Kentucky State Police Assist Sheriff’s Office with Arrest in Grant County, after a “shots fired” Call from Neighbors

DRY RIDGE, KY – The Kentucky State Police is reporting an arrest in Grant County on Monday, May 15, 2023, when KSP Post 6, Dry Ridge personnel were requested to assist the Grant County Sheriff’s Office on Corinth Road for a male subject that refused to come out of his residence. Neighbors originally called to report “shots fired” at 3:48 A.M..

Upon arrival, the Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to get the male to exit the residence. During this time, it was learned a female was in the house and she was eventually able to leave the house without harm.

After several phone calls to the male subject, he agreed to exit the house and was taken into custody without incident.

The male did have an injury to one of his legs that existed prior to him being taken into custody at 2:56 P.M. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Grant County for that injury.

John Hodges age 50 of Grant County has been charged with:

  • Wanton Endangerment First Degree
  • Terroristic Threatening Third Degree

Hodges was lodged at the Grant County Detention Center after his release from the hospital. He is being held on a $10,000.00 Cash bond.

This matter remains under investigation by KSP Post 6 Detectives.

Along with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the State Police was assisted by Dry Ridge EMS.
