Sheriff in Southeast Kentucky Elected to KSA Board of Directors for 10th Consecutive Year

OWENSBORO, KY - This past week, Laurel County Sheriff John Root and members of the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office command staff, including Major Robbie Grimes along with Captain Chris Edwards attended the 2023 annual Kentucky Sheriff's Conference in Owensboro, Kentucky.

During the conference, Sheriff John Root of London, Kentucky was, for the 10th consecutive year elected by Kentucky Sheriffs from all over the Commonwealth of Kentucky to serve on the Kentucky Sheriff's Association board of directors.

This will be Sheriff Root's 10th straight year as a sitting Sheriff's Association board member.

Sheriff Root stated "It is an honor to be involved in crucial decision making and since this board works on procedures and policies statewide, it will not only effect my Laurel County Sheriff's office but will also impact Kentucky Sheriff Departments throughout the Commomwealth."

Sheriff Root first began sitting on the board in 2015 and his new term begins immediately for 2024.
