FATAL TWO-VEHICLE COLLISION ON U.S. 150 IN WASHINGTON COUNTY, KENTUCKY

SPRINGFIELD, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that: On September 16, 2023 at approximately 6:43 P.M. EST, KSP Post 15, Columbia troopers responded to a two-vehicle injury collision on U.S. 150 near the intersection of Texas Rd. in Washington County.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Demario Coleman, age 35 of Mississippi, was traveling on U.S. 150 in a 2007 GMC Yukon when he collided head-on with a 2016 Ram 1500 that was being operated by Llyric Perkins, age 47 of Harrodsburg, KY.

Mr. Coleman was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Washington County Coroner.  Mr. Perkins was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

A passenger in Mr. Coleman’s vehicle, Lorenzo King, age 40 of Mississippi, was also transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital with serious injuries.

KSP Post 15 Troopers were assisted at the scene by Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, Washington County Fire and EMS, Washington County Rescue Squad, and Washington County Coroner. The collision remains under investigation by Senior Trooper Weston Sullivan.
