Rape Arrest of Pulaski County, Kentucky Man for Sexual Assault that Occurred when Adult Victim was a Minor

SOMERSET, KY - Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones reports the arrest of a Burnside man on September 14, 2023, for Rape in the Second Degree stemming from an investigation into a sexual assault that occurred when the victim, now an adult, was a minor.

As part of the investigation on September 14, Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Narcotics Division, executed a search warrant at a residence on Perkins Drive in the Antioch section of Pulaski County.

While at the residence, Detectives encountered John Lloyd Lester, 46, who lives in the home.

Lester was taken into custody at that time for a warrant, charging him in connection with this investigation.

John Lloyd Lester was charged with:

  • Rape in the Second Degree 

During the search of the home, items were discovered which potentially could result in Lester being charged with additional offenses.

Dep. David Campbell assisted on the scene, transporting Lester to the Pulaski County Detention Center where he continues to be held on a $20,000 bond.

On September 25, a preliminary hearing was held in Pulaski District Court.

At the conclusion of the preliminary hearing, added to Lester’s charges was an additional count of:

  • Sodomy in the Second Degree

John Lloyd Lester is currently lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
