DRIVER FLEEING MANCHESTER POLICE IN CLAY COUNTY, KENTUCKY ARRESTED AFTER CRASHING

MANCHESTER, KY - According to the Manchester Police Department: On Monday, October 9, 2023, MPD Officer Carr was providing traffic safety by conducting stationary radar control on Memorial Drive and Beech Creek Road in Manchester when he observed a speeding vehicle traveling northwest.

Officer Carr activated his emergency equipment and attempted to make a traffic stop on the speeding vehicle. The vehicle began to flee traveling at a high rate of speed.

Officer Carr continued pursuing the vehicle until the driver who was later identified to be Landon Wagers age 18 of Coal Hollow Road, Manchester, KY failed to maneuver a curve, losing control and crashing into a tree.

Officer Carr then made contact with the driver, Landon Wagers and placed him under arrest without further incident. Wagers was transported to the Clay County Detention Center.

Landon Wagers was charged with the following:

  • Speeding 09 MPH Over Limit-Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
  • Reckless Driving
  • No Operators
  • Moped License
  • Failure to produce insurance card
  • Failure to wear seat belts

This individual was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
