TWO-VEHICLE INJURY COLLISION ON HAL ROGERS PARKWAY EXIT 20 IN MANCHESTER, KENTUCKY

MANCHESTER, KY - The Manchester Police Department is reporting that on Thursday, November 2, 2023, MPD Officers responded to a two vehicle collision at the Hal Rogers Parkway exit in Manchester.

A Tri-Axle dump truck loaded wirh graval was exiting the parkway when its brakes apparently failed resulting in a collision with another vehicle. Reportedly both drivers were transported to AdventHealth in Manchester for treatment. The dump truck driver was later airlifted to another facility.

According to MPD, the parkway was shut down for several hours.

The City of Manchester Fire Department reported that at approximately 9:56 AM, Thursday morning their department was notified by Clay County E-911 of a two vehicle accident with a large explosion on the Hal Rogers Parkway.

Upon arrival at the scene, there was a dump truck fully involved in fire after striking another passenger vehicle and a guardrail.

The patient was extricated by bystanders on scene, firefighters extinguished the fire and remained on scene for several hours until the parkway was reopened and back to normal traffic flow.
