LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Wes Brown along with Deputy Joe Breeding arrested Charles Vernon Helton age 55 of London early Sunday morning October 29, 2023 at approximately 2:11 AM.
The arrest occurred off Keavy Road, approximately 5 miles southwest of London after deputies were dispatched to an assault complaint there.
Upon arrival at the scene deputies made contact with a female victim who stated that a male subject there had slapped her in the head.
Deputies noted redness to the left side of the victim’s face and nose.
Charles Vernon Helton was charged with:
- Assault – 4th degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
