TEENAGER KILLED, MULTIPLE OTHERS INJURED IN COLLISION ON US 25E IN BELL COUNTY INVOLVING THREE VEHICLES WITH DRIVERS FROM KENTUCKY, INDIANA AND VIRGINA

PINEVILLE, KY – The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement responded Tuesday to a three-vehicle fatal crash on US 25E near the 6-mile marker in the Meldrum Community of Bell County, Kentucky.

Upon arrival, a preliminary investigation found that a 2012 Chevy pick-up truck being operated by 18-year-old Silas Gingerich, of Jonesville, Virginia was traveling south on US 25E and collided with a 2012 Mazda passenger car operated by 35-year-old Ashley Jordan of Pineville, Kentucky

The collision sent Jordan into a third vehicle, a 2024 International Semi-Tractor trailer operated by 40-year-old Nabryan Keene of Clarksville, Indiana.

Multiple passengers in Jordan's 2012 Mazda were flown from the scene for treatment and a 15-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bell County Coroner's office.

Drugs and alcohol are not known at this time, however, drowsy driving is believed to be a direct factor in the crash. The seat belt was not being utilized by the deceased at the time of the collision.

Multiple agencies assisted on the scene. Kentucky State Police CVE Master Officer Jason Freeman continues the investigation.
