LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler along with Laurel County Constable Robert Smith arrested Anthony Joseph Shumaker age 40 of Nicholasville, KY on Wednesday evening December 6, 2023 at approximately 4:59 PM.
The arrest occurred in a business parking lot off Highway 312 approximately 10 miles South of London after officers observed a motorcycle with no license plate make a turn without signaling the turn.
An investigation was conducted on the driver who was found in possession of suspected Methamphetamine and a glass meth pipe with residue.
It was learned through investigation that this individual was driving on DUI suspended license for a second time. It was also determined that the driver of the motorcycle was under the influence for a third offense.
Anthony Joseph Shumaker was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – third offense
- Driving on a DUI suspended license – second offense
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – Methamphetamine
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
