WARNE, NC - The Clay County, NC Sheriff's Office is reporting that on Thursday, night December 21, 2023 at 10:23 PM, Clay County Officers Donovan Burke, TJ Major, and Kyle Lickteig were dispatched to 49 Miranda Drive in Warne, NC concerning a Breaking or Entering and vandalism in progress.
Upon the arrival of the Officers, a suspect was identified as Christopher George Alberta, 39 years of age of Warne, NC.
Alberta told the Officers he was moving some of his belongings and had forcibly opened a hand safe that was present and noted at the scene.
Officers present had concerns that a firearm had been in the safe and was nearby.
At this time a brief safety frisk of Alberta’s person was conducted and the following items were found on his person:
- Two knives
- A glass smoking pipe
- Suspected Marijuana
- A little glass jar containing a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for Methamphetamine
Christopher George Alberta was arrested and charged with:
- Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
- Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Alberta was held under a $10,000 secured bond.
