Body Found Inside Vehicle at Wrecker Lot in Nashville, Tennessee Identified, Homicide Investigation Underway

NASHVILLE, TN - The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is reporting that the discovery of a body Wednesday afternoon, December 27, 2023, inside an SUV on the lot of a Nashville wrecker service is now a homicide investigation after the Medical Examiner’s Office found that the male victim had been shot multiple times.

The Chevrolet Blazer had been towed from 52 Tusculum Road on Friday, December 15th at the request of the landlord.

The 58-year-old man who owned the SUV, Orlando Hernandez, lived at the property, but has not been seen in several weeks.

The body had been concealed in the rear seat of the vehicle. It was found by a wrecker service employee who was inspecting the interior of the SUV Wednesday afternoon. The Medical Examiner’s Office is working with detectives to confirm the identity of the deceased.

Update: The victim has been positively identified as Orlando Hernandez, 58.
