ANNOUNCEMENT: WARMING SHELTER READY TO ACTIVATE IN MANCHESTER/CLAY COUNTY, KENTUCKY ONCE TEMPERATURES DROP BELOW 15 DEGREES

MANCHESTER, KY - At 7:00 PM on Sunday, January 14th, 2024, the Clay County Emergency Management in Manchester announced, that for citizens without shelter, a warming shelter will be ready to activate beginning Monday, January 15th at 7:00 PM and once temperatures drop below 15 degrees per the NOAA Weather Station report in Jackson.

The Manchester Police Department and the Clay County Sheriff's Department will assist in providing a safe, monitored location.

Rules:

  • Quite time begins at 10:00 p.m.
  • Backpacks / Belongings will be secured in a separate room
  • No illicit drugs
  • No alcohol
  • No weapons
  • Service Animals only

Other house pets can be boarded at the county animal shelter during this emergency action.
