COURT RESOLUTION OF A TWO-STATE VEHICLE PURSUIT CASE FROM DECEMBER OF 2022 IN WILLIAMSBURG, KY

WHITLEY COUNTY, KY - The Williamsburg Police Department, on Saturday, January 20, 2024, reported via social media the court resolution for a vehicle pursuit case dating back to December 4, 2022.

The pursuit is alleged to have started in Williamsburg and into Tennessee on Interstate 75 and back into Kentucky.

According to the Whitley County Detention Center JailTracker records, Bennie Strunk, 46, of Lexington, KY was arrested on December 4, 2022, and booked into the Detention Center on December 5, 2022, at 4:03:00 AM.

A release date of July 18, 2023, at 11:04:48 AM is shown.

COURT RESOLUTION:

Defendant - Bennie Strunk, 46, of Lexington, KY. Strunk led police on a two-state vehicle pursuit in December of 2022.

  • Guilty plea - Wanton Endangerment 1st degree-Police Officer (Sentenced to five years prison)
  • Guilty plea - Fleeing/Evading Police 1st degree-Motor Vehicle (Sentenced to five years prison concurrent)
  • Guilty plea - DUI (Sentenced to 30 days jail concurrent)
