ARREST: Officers Responding to Vehicle in Ditch Near Big Boy in London, KY Locate Operator Passed Out Locked Inside

LONDON, KY - London PD is reporting that on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at approximately 4:41 P.M., Corporal Ben Webb arrested Jeffrey R. Caudill, age 52, of Keavy, KY.

London PD logo 200Corporal Webb received a call from dispatch advising that there was a vehicle in the ditch in front of the Big Boy on W. 5th Street.

Upon arrival, Corporal Webb located the operator, Caudill, passed out and the windows locked. Officers on scene had to beat on the windows in order to get Caudill awake.

Corporal Webb noted that Caudill was extremely intoxicated and after a brief struggle, officers were able to get him secured in the vehicle.

During that time, Caudill was yelling and threatening officers.

Caudill was arrested without any further incident and was later lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Corporal Webb was assisted on scene by Officer Hale and the London-Laurel Rescue Squad.

Jeffrey Caudill was charged with:

  • Operating a Motor Vehicle U/Influence of Alcohol/Substances - 1st Offense (Aggravating Circumstances)
  • Reckless Driving
  • Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container
  • Disorderly Conduct 1st Degree
  • Menacing and other minor traffic related offenses.
