SOMERSET, KY - Sheriff Bobby Jones has reported that on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, several individuals were taken into custody following a traffic stop.

The incident began when Detective Tan Hudson, with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, observed a vehicle travelling south on Highway 27 with the driver side brake light out. Detective Hudson and Detective Trent Massey conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle.

Upon approaching the vehicle, Detectives were able to identify the driver of the vehicle as Sarah McFarland, age 34, of Somerset. Detectives ran McFarland’s information and discovered she had an active warrant for her arrest.

While talking to McFarland, Detectives observed a male in the passenger seat, later identified as Daniel Dewayne McGuire, age 50, of Monticello, take a wrapper from under his right leg and place it in his mouth. Detectives were able to get McGuire to remove the wrapper from his mouth, which contained Heroin and this person was taken into custody.

A female passenger in the back gave Detectives a social security number for identification and while Detectives were trying to identify this individual, a second wrapper that contained Heroin was located in her purse and she was also taken into custody.

All three subjects were arrested and transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center:

While at the detention center, employees of the jail were able to identify the female as Pamela Deloris McGuire, age 55, of Monticello. Once Detectives ran McGuire’s information, it was discovered she had active warrants for her arrest.
