WILLIAMSBURG, KY - According to the Whitley County Sheriff's Department, on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at approximately 10:15 AM members of the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Boyd Connor, age 73, for the Murder of 73-year-old Charles E. Ohler.
Charles Ohler was discovered murdered in his home on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at which time the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office initiated a homicide investigation.
During the course of the investigation evidence was gathered that lead officers to Boyd Connor as being a possible suspect, and on Monday, January 8, 2024 a search warrant was executed at Connor’s residence on 7th. St. in Corbin.
The following day Sheriff Elliotte returned to Connor’s residence and after further investigation Connor was taken into custody. Connor was transported to the Whitley County Detention Center.
Michael Boyd Connor was charged with:
- Murder
This individual was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center where at the time of this publishing he is being held.
Sheriff Bill Elliotte is the lead investigator in this investigation, he was assisted by multiple members of the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office, along with, members of the Corbin Police Department and the Whitley County Coroner’s Office.
This case is an excellent example of the importance of law enforcement agencies working together for the greater good of the community.
