Deputy Locates/Arrests Impaired Driver with Drugs at Scene of Two Vehicle Non-injury Traffic Crash in Laurel County, KY

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Bobby Roberts arrested Garry Sulfridge age 42 of London on Tuesday night February 13, 2024 at approximately 9:07 PM.

LSO logo Blackand Gold 200The arrest occurred on Sinking Creek Road, approximately 4 miles west of London after Deputy Roberts was dispatched to investigate a two vehicle non-injury traffic crash there.

Upon arrival at the scene and while conducting his investigation he determined that the operator of a black Ford F-150 pickup truck was driving on a DUI suspended license.

In addition, following the continuing investigation, Deputy Roberts determined that the driver was operating a motor vehicle under the influence. This individual stated he had meth, methadone, and oxycodone.

Deputy Roberts transported the accused to the Laurel County detention center where he found Sulfridge in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

Garry Sulfridge was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense
  • Driving on DUI suspended license – first offense
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine;
  • Tampering with physical evidence

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
