WPD/WCSD ASSIST U.S. MARSHALS WITH ARREST OF WANTED FUGITIVE IN WHITLEY COUNTY, KENTUCKY

WILLIAMSBURG, KY - On Friday, February 16, 2024, the U.S. Marshal Service requested assistance from the Williamsburg Police Department (WPD) and the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department (WCSD) to serve arrest warrants on Darrell Jones, 31, who was wanted for drug and gun related crimes.

Deputy U.S. Marshals, along with WPD Officer Dorman Patrick Jr. and WCSD Deputy Mike Taylor located Darrell Jones, 31 of Pineville, KY at a residence on Brays Chapel Road, where he was taken into custody and arrested without incident.

A handgun was found at the scene and seized as evidence.

Jones was served with outstanding bench warrants from Fayette and Bell County. He was transported to the Whitley County Detention Center.

Darrell Jones was charged with:

  • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT
  • FAILURE TO APPEAR

In addition, the Williamsburg Police Department (WPD) charged Jones with:

  • POSSESSION OF HANDGUN BY CONVICTED FELON

This individual was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
