ARREST: Detroit, Michigan Man Busted and Deadly Contraband Seized in London, Kentucky by Laurel County “Drug Interdiction” Task Force

LONDON, KY - The Laurel County Sheriff's Office is reporting that: Laurel County Sheriff John Root, London City Police Chief Chuck Johnson and Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith announce that the Laurel County “Drug Interdiction” Task Force arrested Deandre L. Chappell, Jr. age 25, of Detroit, Michigan on Saturday morning March 2, 2024 at approximately 7:00 AM in a business parking lot in London, KY.

Information was developed, a predetermined location to meet was set up, surveillance conducted and as a result a controlled interdiction traffic stop was conducted where Deandre Chappell, Jr. was found in possession of a large amount of fentanyl weighing approximately 104 grams.

Deandre L. Chappell, Jr. was charged with:

  • AGG. TICS >= 28 GMS FENTANYL
  • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA - BUY/POSSESS

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

According to jail records, Chappell is being held on a $50,000.00 CASH bond with a court date scheduled for March 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
