LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Bobby Roberts arrested Bobbie J. Combs age 34 of Gray, KY on Friday afternoon March 8, 2024 at approximately 4:35 PM.
The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Deputy Roberts was dispatched to a theft complaint there.
Upon arrival at the scene Deputy Roberts determined that allegedly this subject had brought an old receipt into Walmart, went to the sporting goods section and took a ball goal off the shelf taking it to customer service and pretended to have brought it back as a return (with the old receipt) and receiving a merchandise card for $129.00.
This individual then went back into Walmart and bought $134.00 worth of merchandise with the card that she had just received and a previous card from London's Walmart where she had allegedly conducted the same scam.
Bobbie Combs was charged with:
- Theft by deception
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
