Driver Arrested after Traffic Stop for Driving Extremely Slow and Weaving on Roadway in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston along with shift Sgt. Brett Reeves arrested Tonya Parms, age 45 of Keavy on Thursday afternoon April 25, 2024 at approximately 156 P.M..

The arrest occurred on Keavy Road, approximately 1 mile South of London following a traffic stop conducted on a silver Chevrolet Cobalt that was observed weaving on the roadway and driving extremely slow.

During the stop the driver was determined to be under the influence.

The driver stated that she had previously used Methamphetamine.

Tonya Parms was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – third offense
  • Operating a motor vehicle without ignition interlock device
  • Failure of owner to maintain required insurance

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
