KSP Charges Taylor Co. Man With Child Sexual Exploitation Offenses

Campbellsville, Ky. (July 12, 2019) — On July 11, 2019, the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Barry D. Lewis, 53, on charges related to unlawful possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and prohibited use of an electronic communication device to procure a minor.

Lewis was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online and promoting the sexual performance of juveniles online.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Campbellsville on July 11, 2019. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Lewis is currently charged with twenty counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance and one count of prohibited use of an electronic communication device to procure a minor. These charges are Class-D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison. Lewis was lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center.
