London, Ky. - On Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at approximately 10:25 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a report of a single-vehicle traffic crash with serious injuries on KY HWY 167 in Wayne County.
Upon arrival, Trooper Adam Dodson determined that a 2003 Dodge pickup operated by Brennan J. Chriswell, 18, of Monticello was traveling southbound on KY 167 when he lost control of his vehicle, dropped off the right shoulder of the HWY, traveled over an embankment striking several trees before coming to a final rest.
Chriswell was flown from the scene to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.
The passenger, Sarah E. Catron, 16, of Alpha, KY was flown from the scene to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
Alcohol usage is suspected to be a factor in the collision.
Trooper Dodson is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Troopers from Post 11, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Monticello Fire Department and Wayne County EMS.
