Suspicious Person complaint lands man behind bars in Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. (October 11, 2019) -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Taylor McDaniel along with K-9 Deputy Jake Miller arrested Brandon Kennedy age 30 of Louisville, KY on Thursday afternoon October 10, 2019 at approximately 1:29 PM.

The arrest occurred off South Laurel Rd., approximately 3/10 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a suspicious person at a business property there.

Deputies received information that the suspect appeared to be trying to get into vehicles parked on the property there and had been asked to leave the property and refused.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies learned that the individual had walked in behind a building there and upon making contact with the suspect deputies conducted an investigation determining that he was under the influence.

While attempting to retrieve a knife that the suspect stated he had in his possession, the suspect reached for the knife and following a brief struggle with deputies was taken into custody.

Brandon Kennedy was charged with:

  • Public intoxication – controlled substances
  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree
  • Resisting arrest
  • Criminal trespassing – third-degree
  • Possession of Marijuana

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
