Clay County, Ky. (December 1, 2019) - Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on December 1, 2019 at approximately 1:00 AM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Wes Brumley along with CSO Derick Carr arrested Justin Bates, 38 of Highway 149.
The arrest occurred when Deputy Brumley conducted a traffic stop for vehicle infractions on South Highway 421.
Upon contact with the driver, a strong odor of alcoholic beverage was emitting from the subject. Through investigation it was determined the subject was under in the influence of alcohol.
Justin Bates was charged with:
• Operating Motor vehicle under the influence of ALC/DRUGS/ETC
• Rear License not Illuminated
• Reckless Driving
