PSA: Clay County Cooperative Extension Service programs for January, 2020

MANCHESTER, KY (December 23, 2019) - Clay County Cooperative Extension Service upcoming programs for January, 2020.

♦Come join us for an evening of New Orleans Cuisine presented by Scott Madden on January 7, 2020 at the Clay County Extension Office beginning at 6:00 pm.  Scott will be preparing Bread Pudding with Pralines and Jambalaya.  Join others that love to cook and share food stories.  The program is free and open to the public, but you must call 598-2789 to register.

Weigh 2 Go:  So you made a new year’s resolution to improve your health.  The Clay County Extension Office is offering Weigh 2 Go, a self-directed program.  You must come on January 9th at 6:00 pm to weigh the first time.  Then you will come into the office to weigh each week, on your own time, for eight weeks.  You will pick up information each time you come in to weigh that will help you with your goal.  Topics are:  Protein, Exercise, Food Label, Gym, Your Sweet Tooth, & Water.  You must call 598-2789 to register.  This program is free and open to the public.

Cooking by the Calendar will be January 14th at 6:00 pm at the Extension Office.  Come enjoy a delicious recipe from the Extension Calendar with others that love to cook.  Program is free and open to the public, but you must call 598-2789 to register.

4-H Teen Club Meeting is January 16th at 4:30 pm at the Extension Office.  Free and open to all youth in middle school and high school.

4-H Chefs in Training will be January 21st at 4:30 pm at the Clay County Extension Office.  4-H’ers will learn how to make a Monte Cristo Grilled Sandwich.  FREE & open to all youth ages 8-14. Please call 598-2789 to register by November 18th.

♦A pesticide training will be Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 10-11:30 am at the Clay County Extension Office.  Please call 598-2798 to register if your card has or is about to expire.

One Pot Meals will be January 28th at 6:00 pm at the Extension Office.  Don’t want a lot of dishes to wash, but want a delicious meal, then come to this class.  Join others that love to share their cooking knowledge.  Please call 598-2789.  Free and open to the public.
