PSA: Clay County Cooperative Extension Service programs for February, 2020

MANCHESTER, KY (February 4, 2020) - Clay County Cooperative Extension Service upcoming programs for February, 2020.

♦4-H Crafty Artists Club will meet on February 6th from 4:30-5:30 pm at the Clay County Extension Office. Come and make a 3D Valentine Day card and enjoy a sweet treat! These projects can be entered for 4-H Showcase and Kentucky State Fair! FREE & open to all youth ages 8-18. Please call 598-2789 to register by February 3rd.

 ♦2020 Woodland Stewards Webinar Series will take place Feb. 6, 13, 27, & March 5th at the EXCEL Building. Each webinar will be from 7 PM -8:30 PM. Program is FREE & open to the public. Call 598-2789 to register. Woodland Management: What is Right for You and Your Woodland will be Feb. 6th. Managing your woodlands to grow healthy forests and produce revenue depends on making the right choices for your location. This session will help woodland owners to understand how stand dynamics and market considerations are used in the application of management.

 ♦Cooking by the Calendar will be February 11th at 6:00 pm at the Extension Office. We will be preparing February and March calendar recipes to enjoy. Recipes are nutritious, healthy and good tasting. An extra bonus is you get a yearly calendar plus cooking tips when you attend the program. Please call 598-2789 to register. Free and open to the public.
♦4-H Chefs in Training will be on February 18th from 4:30-5:30 pm at the Clay County Extension Office. Come and make breakfast burritos! FREE & open to all youth ages 8-18. Call 598-2789 to register by February 13th!

♦The 4-H Teen Club will have their meeting on February 20th at 5:30 pm at the Extension Office. Clay County 4-H Teen Club is open to any middle school or high school students interested in developing leadership skills and enjoy working to better the community and 4-H! This club is a good way to meet new people, attend leadership events, become a camp counselor and help your community!

♦An Unexpected Tinkle (Homemaker leader training) will be February 26th at 10:00 am at the Extension Office. Have you ever had that unexpected tinkle? It can be embarrassing! It is not a normal part of aging nor does it only happen to older individuals. Come learn about urinary incontinence. This program is free and open to the public, but please call 598-2789 to register.

♦Plate It Up will be February 27th at 6:00 pm at the Extension Office. Come join us for the first 2020 Plate It Up cooking school. Plate It Up recipes contain fruits and vegetables that can be grown in Kentucky gardens. Join others that love to cook. Call 598-2789 to register. This program is free and open to the public.

♦2020 Woodland Stewards Webinar Series - EXCEL building - 7-8:30 pm - FREE & open to the public! Launching your Woodland Legacy: Intact, In Forest and In Family Ownership - February 27th. Most woodland owners cite legacy as one of their main reasons for owning land, and a large majority express concern over their ability to keep the land intact. This session is designed to help you find the best way to pass this legacy intact to your heirs.

♦Clay County Community Farmers Market will meet on February 28th at 6:00 pm at the Extension Office.
