DUI & Drug Paraphernalia Arrest During Traffic Stop In Southern Laurel County, Ky.

LONDON, KY (August 30, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston, Deputy James Fox and Deputy Justin Tayloy arrested Jerry Allen Elliott age 44 of Corbin early Sunday morning August 30, 2020 at approximately 6:09 AM.

The arrest occurred off West Cumberland Gap Parkway, approximately 10 miles South of London after deputies conducted a traffic stop on a blue Chevrolet Malibu that had a camouflage sheet dragging from it and determined through investigation that the driver was under the influence.

This individual stated he had used Methamphetamine earlier and he had smoked it in a pipe.

Deputies located this subject in possession of a pipe and a needle.

The subject stated he was going to play golf.

Jerry Allen Elliott was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Failure of nonowner operator to maintain required insurance – first offense
  • Obstructed vision
  • Failure to signal

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
