City Officials from Manchester, Kentucky receive Training Award

LEXINGTON, KY – The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) recently recognized Manchester Mayor James Garrison with a KLC Level III award for Master of City Governance. KLC also presented Councilmember Russell Gregory a Level I award for Achievement in City Governance.

KLC administers the City Officials Training Center (COTC), a voluntary education program. City officials can complete education levels by attending KLC events and submitting outside educational credit from other municipal training.

“The KLC COTC program is just one way KLC works to serve our members,” said KLC Executive Director/CEO J.D. Chaney. “Through the program, city officials receive a variety of training opportunities. We appreciate the willingness of city officials to take part in these events. It is a testament to Mayor Garrison and Councilmember Gregory’s dedication to quality governance at the local level.”

The Level I Achievement in City Governance award requires a city official to attend 30 hours of approved training with one hour of ethics training.

The Level III Master of City Governance award requires a city official to attend 90 hours of approved training with three hours of ethics training.
