ARREST AFTER INVESTIGATION OF FIST FIGHT COMPLAINT SOUTH OF LONDON, KY

LONDON, KY — Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Zach Allen along with Deputy Zach Strong and shift Sgt. Allen Turner arrested Samuel Clontz, age 36 of Lily on Tuesday night April 15, 2025 at approximately 7:31 PM.

The arrest occurred off Jim Maggard Road, approximately 6 miles south of London near Lily after deputies were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a fight complaint there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies learned that, apparently Clontz and another subject there had been fist fighting on the property when Clontz allegedly fled into a residence not his own.

Deputies secured permission from the property owner to make entry and at the same time learned that the accused had fled out the back door of the residence. Deputies gave chase and commands to the fleeing subject, however the subject refused to cooperate.

When deputies caught up to Clontz, a brief struggle ensued before Clontz was taken into custody. He continued to be uncooperative as he was placed inside a patrol vehicle and transported to the detention center.

Samuel Clontz was charged with;

  • Criminal trespassing – second-degree
  • Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
  • Resisting arrest
  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree
  • Menacing
  • Public intoxication – controlled substances

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
