LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Reed along with Deputy Greg Poynter arrested Christopher West, age 33 of Corbin on Wednesday afternoon May 7, 2025 at approximately 2:54 PM.
The arrest occurred at a business off KY 770 approximately 11 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a suspicious person’s complaint there.
While enroute to the scene deputies were advised that an individual there was stating that he could see people in his attic and wanted law enforcement to come and check it out.
When deputies arrived at the scene they located the complainant outside with a shotgun. Deputies secured the shotgun and began their investigation and did not locate any other individuals there.
In addition, deputies noted that the complainant had pinpoint pupils, slurred and erratic speech and was unsteady on his feet – deputies determined this individual was under the influence. Upon arrest this individual began creating a disturbance.
Christopher West was charged with:
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Disorderly conduct – second-degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
