LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's drug interdiction unit Justin Taylor along with Deputy Greg Poynter arrested Sean Chitwood, age 31 of Lebanon, KY on Wednesday afternoon May 7, 2025 at approximately 4:20 PM.
The arrest occurred on Rockcastle River Forestry Road approximately 10 miles north of London following a traffic stop conducted on a black Chevrolet Suburban for an equipment violation.
During the stop it was determined that the driver was operating on a DUI suspended license. In addition, the driver was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine.
Sean Chitwood was charged with:
- Driving on a DUI suspended license – first offense
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Obstructed wind shield
- Failure to produce insurance card
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
