KSP Arrests Paris Man for Internet Crime

(Paris, KY)— A 64-year-old Bourbon County resident was arrested by the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch on Feb. 20 as the result of an undercover Internet Crime Against Children (ICAC) investigation involving child sexual exploitation.

The KSP Electronic Crime Branch investigation began when detectives discovered someone believed to be in Paris, Ky. was distributing child pornography files.

The investigation eventually led KSP detectives to the residence of James Wells. On Feb. 20, 2013, Electronic Crime Branch detectives, assisted by KSP Post 6 in Dry Ridge and the Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at the residence.

Detectives arrested Wells based upon evidence obtained at the residence.

Wells was charged with 10 counts of Possession and 10 counts of Distribution of Matter Portraying the Sexual Performance of a Minor.

He was lodged in the Bourbon County Jail.
