DRUG SEIZURE: LOUISVILLE MAN, MANCHESTER WOMAN BUSTED IN LONDON, KENTUCKY

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's drug interdiction unit Justin Taylor along with shift Sgt. Allen Turner arrested two individuals on Wednesday night May 28, 2025 at approximately 8:56 PM.

The arrest occurred on East 4th St. in London following a traffic stop conducted on a blue Dodge Charger. During the stop and investigation, investigators located a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and a smoking pipe.

The two arrested individuals were identified as: The driver, Johnny Asher, age 44 of West Broadway, Louisville, KY and the passenger, Roberta Ann Benge, age 49 of Bald Knob Rd., Manchester, KY. 

Johnny Asher was charged with:

  • Conspiracy to traffick in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Roberta Ann Benge was charged with:

  • Conspiracy to traffick in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession marijuana

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Assisting on the investigation were: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Zach Allen, Deputy Daniel Reed, and Detective Jake Miller. Also assisting was London City Police, and Kentucky State Police.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root stated that drug investigations and arrests will continue in Laurel County.
