LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Justin Taylor arrested Darrin Perkins of Somerset, KY on June 21, 2025.
The arrest occurred early Saturday morning June 21st on an I-75 exit ramp in London when Detective Taylor located a gym bag inside a vehicle stopped for a safety checkpoint. Located in the bag was a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, digital scales and plastic baggies.
Seized contraband
Following an investigation, Detective Taylor placed the male subject, Darrin W. Perkins, age 44, under arrest and he was later transported to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
Darrin Perkins was charged with:
- TRAFF IN CONT SUB, 1ST DEGREE, 2ND OR > - (> OR = 2GMS METHAMPHETAMINE)
- DRUG PARAPHERNALIA - BUY/POSSESS
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
