BOWLING GREEN, KY. (June 28, 2025) – At just after 6:00 a.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 3 was contacted by the Allen County Sheriff's Office about a fatal collision. Troopers arrived on scene at the intersection of Clare Road and Franklin Road.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by 72-year-old Carolyn Brandon from Franklin, was traveling eastbound on Clare Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Franklin Road. Ms. Brandon entered the path of a westbound 2020 Toyota Camry, operated by 26-year-old Brendan Ploughe from Scottsville. Ms. Brandon was transported to Franklin Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Jonathan Blackman, a passenger in Ms. Brandon's vehicle, was taken to Greenview Regional Hospital. Mr. Ploughe was also transported to Bowling Green Medical Center. Both were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and will be led by Trooper Landon Key, who was assisted at the scene by the Allen County Sheriff's Office, Allen County EMS, and other KSP personnel.
