DOMESTIC DISPUTE RESULTS IN ARREST AT RESIDENCE ON HWY 638 IN CLAY COUNTY, KY

MANCHESTER, KY - Clay County Sheriff, Patrick Robinson, reports that on Sunday, June 29, 2025 Deputy Dustin Henson and Sgt. Deputy Wes Brumley responded to a residence on HWY 638 regarding a domestic dispute between two subjects.

Upon arrival at the residence on HWY 638 where the currently married female and male subjects reside at together, Deputies found both subjects separated and involved in a verbal argument. The female subject stated that they were just in a verbal altercation and that the male subject was trying to take her personal files off of a hard drive and leave with it. She also stated that the male subject was a felon and had firearms in his possession.

The female subject gave Deputies verbal permission and a written statement to search the residence for firearms. During the search, Deputy Henson and Sgt. Deputy Brumley were able to locate 4 firearms —3 rifles and 1 pistol. Upon running the male subject's information through dispatch and also a criminal history through NCIC, it was determined that the subject, identified as, Johnathan Baker, 44, of Manchester, KY was a convicted felon. Due to Baker being able to access the firearms in the household, he was placed under arrest.

Johnathan Baker was arrested for:

  • POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON
  • POSSESSION OF HANDGUN BY CONVICTED FELON

This individual was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
