LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's drug interdiction unit Justin Taylor arrested Scott David Fowler, age 60, of Good Branch Rd., Lily on Wednesday night July 2, 2025 at approximately 9:19 PM.
The arrest occurred off Portersburg Road, approximately 10 miles east of London in Clay County near the Laurel County line after this subject fled a traffic safety checkpoint being conducted by Laurel County deputies on Highway 472 in Laurel County.
Following a brief pursuit, this individual wrecked his motorcycle and was taken into custody and found in possession of:
- Suspected methamphetamine
- Hydrocodone tablets
- Clonazepam tablets
- Suspected hallucinogen mushrooms
- A large quantity of U.S. currency
Scott Fowler is charged with:
- TRAFF IN CONT SUB, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFF - (> OR = 2 GMS METHAMPHETAMINE)
- TRAFF IN CONT SUB, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFF - (> OR = 10 D.U. DRUG UNSPECIFIED)
- TRAFF IN CONT SUB, 3RD DEGREE, 1ST OFF - (< 20 D.U. DRUG UNSPECIFIED)
- PRESCRIPTION CONT SUB NOT PROPER CONTAIN 1ST OFF
- POSS CONT SUB, 2ND DEGREE - HALLUCINOGEN
- DRUG PARAPHERNALIA - BUY/POSSESS
- SPEEDING 26 MPH OR > SPEED LIMIT
- FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 2ND DEGREE (MOTOR VEHICLE)
- IMPROPER TURNING
- IMPROPER START FROM PARKED POSITION
- IMPROPER REGISTRATION PLATE
- FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INS/SEC, 1ST OFF
- RECKLESS DRIVING
- NO MOTORCYCLE OPERATORS LICENSE
