ATV Pursuit in Laurel Co., KY Ends with DUI Arrest after Vehicle Crashes on HWY 192 in London

LONDON, KY — Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Noah Ritchie arrested Scott Robinson, age 45, of Helvetia Rd., London early Thursday morning July 3, 2025 at approximately 4:14 AM.

The arrest occurred on KY 192 in London following a pursuit of an all-terrain vehicle being operated illegally on the roadway without any taillamps and observed traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was initially observed on KY 192 turning onto E. Laurel Rd. in London and determined to be traveling at 70 mph.

Deputy Ritchie initiated is emergency equipment to conduct a traffic stop however the vehicle failed to stop traveling through several business parking lots and behind buildings at a high rate of speed and at one point it appeared that the ATV attempted to hit Deputy Ritchie's cruiser.

The vehicle changed direction and headed back toward KY 192 traveling onto KY 192 in London where the driver attempted to turn the vehicle around in the middle of the four-lane highway when it overturned and came to stop. As the driver was removed from the ATV he briefly struggled with Deputy Ritchie before being taken into custody. It was determined that the driver was under the influence.

Scott Robinson was charged with:

  • Fleeing or evading police – first-degree – motor vehicle
  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense
  • Speeding 15 mph over the limit
  • Operating a vehicle with an expired operator's license
  • Failure to produce insurance card
  • No registration plates
  • Failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
