LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's shift Sgt. Robert Reed arrested Carol Westerfield age 28 address not determined on Wednesday night July 2, 2025 at approximately 11:31 PM.
The arrest occurred off KY 770 approximately 9 miles South of London after Deputy Cyruss McVey conducted a traffic stop on a four wheeler being operated on the roadway illegally.
During the initial stop the passenger jumped off the vehicle and fled the scene on foot and was located a short time later by Kentucky State Police in possession of a needle at a hotel in southern Laurel County and taken into custody. The accused advised that she had used meth in the last 24 hours and was determined to be under the influence at the time of her arrest.
Carol Westerfield was charged with:
- Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
