LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Noah Ritchie arrested Zachary Setser, age 18, of Willow Branch Rd., East Bernstadt on Wednesday night July 9, 2025 at approximately 9:24 PM.
The arrest occurred off American Greeting Card Road approximately 9 miles South of London following an investigation conducted by Laurel Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Taylor McDaniel following an investigation which began on June 26th, 2025 after deputies were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a complaint that a male subject had been shot at apartments off American Greeting Card Road, 9 miles South of London.
When deputies arrived at the scene they located a male victim that had been shot multiple times and was in critical condition. This individual was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to UK med center. It was learned through investigation who the suspect was and that the shooting had allegedly occurred over a disagreement between the two individuals.
Zachary Setser was charged on a complaint warrant of arrest obtained by Laurel Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Taylor McDaniel charging:
- Attempted murder
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
