ARREST: Kentucky State Police Troopers Rescue Domestic Violence Victims in London, KY

LONDON, KY (July 11, 2025) – KSP is reporting that: On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at approximately 1:09 PM, troopers from Kentucky State Police Post 11 in London successfully rescued victims of a domestic violence situation in Laurel County.

The incident began when a juvenile used a 911-only phone to report the situation, with the call initially received by Laurel County 911 and then transferred to Kentucky State Police.

Upon arriving at the residence on TIB Drive, troopers were unable to make contact and proceeded to make forcible entry. Inside, they located Brandon L. Lunsford, age 36, of Corbin.

Lunsford was holding his spouse and juvenile children against their will in an attempt to avoid apprehension. The troopers acted quickly to secure the victims' safety and took the suspect into custody without further incident.

Brandon Lunsford was charged with:

  • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) MINOR INJURY — 1 count
  • UNLAWFUL IMPRISONMENT - 2ND DEGREE — 3 counts
  • STRANGULATION 1ST DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RELATED) — 1 count

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
