(Campbellsburg, KY) - A Carroll County man has been arrested and charged with the murder of his two year old son.
Douglas Allen, 26 years old from Ghent, KY, was charged in connection with the February 19th death of his son.
Amanda Foster, Douglas Allen's girlfriend and the victim's mother, called 9-1-1 at 6:43 a.m. on the morning of the 19th telling dispatchers the child had been discovered dead in his bed.
A toxicology report showed the boy had extremely high levels of Oxycodone in his system at the time of his death.
After talking to Allen, detectives believe he allegedly gave his son a Schedule II narcotic on the night of February 18th which led to the child's death.
Allen was arrested at the Kentucky State Police post in Campbellsburg. He is being lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center.
Detective Mickey Gonterman is leading the ongoing investigation.
