Discrepancies totaling over $20,000 result in arrest of former Clay County Detention Center employee

 

 

Manchester, Ky. - MPD is reporting that on Monday, January 26, 2015 Manchester Police Department Asst. Chief Patrick Robinson arrested a Manchester man on theft charges.

Arrested was David Hobbs of Manchester, KY.

Hobbs, a former Clay County Detention Center employee, was taken into custody without incident following an investigation by Asst. Chief Robinson and Chief Chris Fultz, and charged with 18 counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of property over $500.

The investigation began after jail staff located discrepancies totaling over $20,000 in the commissary account.

Hobbs was the Deputy Jailer responsible for purchasing and transporting the goods to the detention center.

Due to being a recent employee of the jail, Hobbs was transported and lodged in the Jackson County Detention Center.
