Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Mikey Ashurst arrested a Corbin woman early Sunday morning February 8, 2015 at approximately 1:15 A.M.
Arrested was Laura Burton age 24 Of Rydell Road, Corbin, KY.
The arrest occurred in a business parking lot off E. Cumberland Gap Parkway approximately 10 miles south of London after Deputy Ashurst was dispatched to a complaint from an off-duty Knox County EMS worker that he had observed a female subject apparently passed out behind the wheel of a silver colored Honda Passport.
The complainant advised that the female subject in the vehicle advised that her name was Miley Cyrus.
When Deputy Ashurst arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from inside the vehicle, and an investigation on the driver determined that she was under the influence.
Laura Burton was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. Photo attached is courtesy of the Laurel County Detention Center.
