Police locate narcotics on man slumped over the wheel of a running vehicle with a small child inside - Clay County

 

 

Manchester, Ky. - MPD is reporting that on Thursday, February 12, 2015 Manchester Police Department Asst. Chief Patrick Robinson responded to the Clay County Courthouse to investigate an intoxicated driver passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle.

When Asst. Chief Robinson arrived he located Jason George Wagers, of London, Ky. slumped over the wheel of a running vehicle while in drive.

When officers attempted to wake Wagers the vehicle began to roll away before it was quickly stopped by officers.

Police also located a small child in the vehicle with Wagers during the encounter.

During the investigation officers observed what appeared to be the remains of a white pill in the nostril of Wagers and several other narcotics on his person.

Wagers was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs / alcohol, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Wagers was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.

Clay County Sheriff's Deputy Taye Napier assisted at the scene.
