Domestic violence complaint - Dispatchers could hear screaming in the background before the phone went dead

 

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Mikey Ashurst along with Deputy Andrew Lawson arrested a London man early Friday morning February 20, 2015 at approximately 2:35 A.M.

Arrested was Donald Fields age 56 of Black Water Road, London, KY.

The arrest occurred off Kathy Lane approximately 10 miles east of London after deputies were dispatched to a domestic violence complaint.

Dispatchers could hear screaming in the background before the phone went dead.

When deputies arrived at the scene they could hear screaming coming from inside the residence.  A female victim opened the front door with a busted lip and crying.

The male subject involved ran out the back door jumping off a porch and attempted to flee the scene. Deputies chased the suspect in -20° temperatures and 14 inches of snow and captured the him without incident.

Deputies learned that the subject had allegedly struck the female victim in the face and threw coffee on her.

Donald Fields was charged with assault – 4th degree – domestic violence and Fleeing or Evading Police – second-degree – on foot and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
