KSP Charges Boone Co. Man With Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography

 

 

(Burlington, Ky.) — On February 26, 2015, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by the Boone County Sheriff’s Dept., arrested a Boone County man for charges related to possession and distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Arrested was John E. Schank, 46, Schank was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Schank’s residence in the evening hours of February 26, 2015. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Schank is currently charged with 17 counts of possession and three counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

He was lodged in the Boone County Detention Center.

Jail records indicate that Schank was released on 2/27/2015
